Tuesday – Overfly and ground tour of Niagara Falls KIAG

Art Hansen and John will brief you on this the night before while at John’s house.

Flight to and around (circling) Niagara Falls [KIAG].  This flight will take you over the entire Fingers Lakes region and along the Lake Ontario shore line. On the ground, Niagara Falls is a walking venue with various Falls outlooks spread over thousands of acres of developed State Park.  In my opinion, the best viewing sites (Horseshoe Falls) are in Canada.  Keith and Heather Dorken have volunteered to provide an escort on the Canadian side.  If you intend to enter Canada, border crossing documentation is necessary (passport or equivalent).  There are many activities on both sides of Niagara Falls (ie, such as Maid of the Mist or walking behind the face of the Falls). I encourage you to perform a web search on Niagara Falls to determine what activities interest you if you wish to do more than walk and photograph the Falls.  Upon landing at Niagara Falls Airport, a large passenger van will provide transportation to the Falls and return to the airport.

NOTE:  IF YOU DESIRE TO SEE THE CANADIAN SIDE OF THE FALLS BORDER CROSSING DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED

Since its formation 12,000 years ago, Niagara Falls has been a destination for world explorers, honeymooners and daredevils alike. Only here can you get closer than you ever imagined to the American, Horseshoe and Bridal Veil Falls – and create mist-covered memories to last a lifetime.

Don your poncho (provided) and soak in the power and beauty of Niagara Falls aboard the iconic Maid of the Mist, or climb the wooden stairs to the Hurricane Deck on Cave of the Winds and feel tropical-storm like conditions as you stand underneath the Bridal Veil Falls. Or if you’re more of an explorer, follow the walking path throughout Niagara Falls State Park, designed by landscape architect, Frederick Law Olmsted – and enjoy over 400 acres of natural, lush terrain and protected wildlife.
