CPS Newsletter: December 2015

Destinations:

We’re heading to Maine in June 2016! Votes are complete and the 2016 CPS Gathering will be held up in the beauty of America's North-East jewel. John and Jane Marden will be our hosts and they are in the process of vetting out location, hotels, and the two thousand other things that must come together for a successful gathering. Please take a moment to say thanks to John and Jane, and do try to attend and lend a hand in this event. More to follow. Watch the Forums for announcements. For starters, check out this thread:

2016 June GTG, Freeport, Maine

Op-Ed:

The ability and willingness to share personal insight into some difficult facets of an aviator’s life stands as a cheerful differentiation of the Members of the Cessna Pilots Society. It is easy to brag on one’s success, but sometimes we learn more from a frank discussion of the mistakes.

We also have an opportunity to learn oodles when a respected operator goes on Stand-Down for a safety reassessment. Here, in a uniquely personal manner, one of our own takes the time to illustrate his reasoning. This example of fellowship would stand on its own for simple decency if it did not also offer each of us a chance at personal reflection on our own operating practices. This thread is worth a read by everyone that ever had a care for his/her fellow pilots. No rah-rah, no bravery, just cut-to-the-bone truth.

‘NOTAMS’ is the newsletter of the Cessna Pilots Society.  “CPS” is an all-volunteer group of aviation enthusiasts who maintain a forum for the unofficial exchange of ideas relating to technical, operational, and functional issues relating specifically to Cessna aircraft.  We provide a venue whereby the members may also choose to discuss destinations, and other subjects that touch on the aviation lifestyle.  No political discussions are permitted. The daily workings of CPS are overseen by a Board of Directors that also moderate the forum if needed. We also welcome members that fly other brands who wish to participate for the friendship, and unique access to a diverse set of good minds.   Dedicated owners, operators, AMT’s and all aviation enthusiasts are welcome at CPS.

The Cessna Pilots Society is not affiliated or endorsed by Cessna/Textron Corporation or its subsidiaries. All Cessna model designations and models are the property/trademark of Cessna/Textron.
